Monthly Processing Volume

The monthly processing volume is the gross monthly Visa and MasterCard sales (dollar amount) that are declared by a merchant on the merchant processing agreement (MPA) when applying for a new merchant account.

Determining the processing volume for your business can be a difficult task, especially if the business is brand new. However, it is very important to declare the proper processing volume to avoid potentially serious problems.
