Credit Card Processor
Credit card processors are financial institutions that are backed by an acquiring bank. Processors handle the electronic verification and initiation of Electronic Funds Transfers (EFT) in to the ACH system on behalf of the bank or contracting financial institution.
The company that handles and keeps track of (processes) all of the details involved in authorizing, clearing, and settling credit card transactions and other electronic transactions and transfers.
