A merchant processing agreement (MAP) is a legally binding document between a merchant and an acquiring bank that outlines the responsibilities and warranties of all parties involved in the process of accepting electronic transaction.

The agreement that outlines rates, fees, and procedures which a merchant must agree to and sign prior to being issued a merchant account.
