A personal identification number (PIN) is a sequence of digits that are unique to an individual, and are used as a security feature to confirm the identity of a user before further action is permitted.

A personal identification number (PIN) is a sequence of numbers that the user of a purchase card (usually a debit card) will enter to validate and confirm their identity for security purposes in order to complete a transaction.
